It’s an honor to serve as President of the Acadiana Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and I want to personally welcome you to our growing community of safety, health, and environmental professionals here in south-central Louisiana.
At the Acadiana Chapter, our mission is to advance the profession of safety and protect workers, property, and the environment through education, networking, and professional development. Our work directly aligns with ASSP’s national strategic plan, to serve as trusted advisors, strengthen professional excellence, and build a vibrant, inclusive community that ensures every worker returns home safe, healthy, and well each day.
Our Chapter Goals
To fulfill this mission, we are committed to
- Building community: Fostering collaboration among professionals, students, and industry partners across Acadiana and beyond.
- Sharing knowledge: Providing relevant technical content, educational meetings, and professional development opportunities that align with ASSP’s strategic priorities.
- Supporting growth: Encouraging leadership, mentorship, and workforce development within our region’s key industries — including construction, energy, manufacturing, and public service.
